Mini skirt. The word alone used to send shivers down my spine. That's what happens when you have a traumatic experience – and I did. A young, impressionable age, of 16 my mind and my soul were marked in most innocent of moments.

While still in high school, took some college courses. Me I spend half the day in middle school and the local college. Although he was nearly 10 years, this particular day is etched in my mind. They talk about the kind. I sat in my seat waiting for the other students to arrive and for the class to start. Darlene, the most beautiful student in the class, hands down, went in. As she was always dressed in the hottest, most fashionable clothes. That day became a blue mini skirt, a white short-sleeved blouse, a sweater, and a simple pair Flat.

She went to a seat, one row ahead of me. Then it happened. Since putting the books on his desk, his pen fell down! A hush fell over those in the vicinity. Looking down the pencils, frozen in terror. Nobody moved. No one spoke. It was as if we were all statues, could not do nothing but watch the tragedy unfolding before us.

The beautiful girl, well dressed girls, the girl all the boys wanted and all the girls wanted to be, he stood there, unable to act, unable to perform the simplest tasks. All the kids around, just waiting and watching, trying to keep themselves from drooling with anticipation. Her skirt was so small, did not see how he would pick up the pencils on their own. Any movement of bending or scope of the pencils would have his back waving hello to all viewers.

She began to lean forward, and stopped. She tried to get squat, keeping knees together. She could not. I could see what was currently doing to her. His face turned red, and then began to fade to white. The sweat came out of his forehead. Her breathing became shallow and frantic. She was covered in a full-on panic attack. Their suffering was almost unbearable to watch. He continued trying different approaches to the total satisfaction of the hormone-driven kids in the crowd but could not reach their pencils without exposing themselves to the crowd.

After what seemed hours to us, and poor forever to Darlene, a girl sitting two tables away brushed trance we were all, and came to the rescue, grabbing pencils soil and put it on the desktop. Darlene was never the same. I was always nervous, taking the humiliation that day. For the remainder of that semester, she was different, fear, fear, lack the spark alive and the trust that once made. He never wore a miniskirt again.

Being a witness to that suffering, anguish and pain, hit me deeply. I could not see or even consider wearing a mini skirt. I was convinced that only mean in agony. Then one day many years later, two very stubborn and determined friends made me confront and overcome my mini-skirt-aphobia. My friends convinced me that Darlene could have avoided the pain and misery that was flooded for the day in the kind of voice. They showed me that miniskirts are fabulous pieces of clothing for those who have the techniques and tools. They need not be the final cause of suffering if you know how to use one.

Of course, do not wear miniskirts in public until he had mastered both skills – sitting, without giving a show, and pick up things (like pens) of land, without flashing back. I've come a long way since that day in the kind of voice. I am a pro now mini-skirt, with years of experience under my belt without agony.

I think Darlene occasionally poor when and can not but pity the poor girl. There were only treated the mini skirt with all due respect, what could have been much different for her. If only have mastered the skills of the mini-skirt before wandering in class that day, all the trauma that could have been avoided. Mini skirts are not to be assumed. In the hips with no experience or training, the pieces that can be really dangerous clothes, customer premises disaster.
