Ice hockey is a sport that is favored in colder climates during the winter and has fans worldwide. It is believed that hockey is related to prehistory, although the word hockey has only been used since the 16th century to describe the game. In 1893, the first of the meetings were held both at Yale University and the University John Hopkins and 1903. The first professional team formed is called the Portage Lakers in Michigan.
Since that time, ice hockey has become covered a popular sport. With the hard surface ice, flying discs over 100 miles per hour at the time and how rough the game is played by the teams face, hockey Ice can be very dangerous for people playing.
Safety equipment
Safety gear has been introduced in the game to keep players to sustain a serious injury. Some of the main safety equipment used by professional players and fans is:
Helmets,
Shoulder pads

Shin guards,
And often, neck guards.
Goalkeepers also need specialized equipment such as masks and extra padding to keep equipment safe flight of pills, while defending the objectives. This safety equipment is a necessity when playing the game and most are considered mandatory.
Ice Hockey
Another piece of equipment used to play ice hockey is ice hockey skates. These are made from a basis of leather or nylon boots. Professionals prefer not to use nylon and is said to make it harder to maneuver in them. The thick leather or nylon boots helps players to protect themselves from being beaten on his legs and ankles.
There is also a blade used in the bottom of the skates. This sheet helps to pass the ice easier. Ice hockey skates are much the same style of skating, but ice hockey skates have round a blade on them to help prevent injuries to other players.
Ice Hockey Sticks
Ice hockey sticks is one of the main tools used in the game and are usually of wood. The hockey stick is about 200 cm long and has a flat extension at the bottom of the club known as the blade. Blades and sticks may vary in size depending on the player you are using. Many professional players have their sticks as to accommodate them.

Ice Hockey Helmets
